In African though, the dead are not dead they are in t the whisper of the trees, in the running water of the brook, in the house, in the hut. In the words of the time honored spiritual that was one of my fathers favorites, "we understand it better by and by". Phyllis Hyman's sister Kim and I talked many times without words about the tragic loss of the crowned Queen.
